Riding Lesson Program (Ages 4 and Up)
About the program...
In this program, students will learn some of the basic fundamentals of horsemanship and equitation with expert, one-on-one instruction under Miss Marka or Miss Carmen. The riding program is structured to accommodate very beginner riders of all ages (adult lessons are also available) all the way through the intermediate level, and will enhance the development of muscle, balance, rhythm, and confidence via the correct use of riding aids. Horseback (or equitation) lessons are perfect for anyone who is crazy over horses or those who are just ready for new and more challenging activities. Lessons begin as private, one-on-one, 45- minute long sessions, and are certain to boost athletic ability, confidence and equine knowledge. As experience and equitation skills increase, students will graduate to a group lesson where they can learn both individually and from each other.
Classes will meet once a week for a minimum of four weeks. Availability for classes is on a first come first serve basis. Payment is due in full prior to the start of each session. Each instructor has well over 20 years experience in teaching student riders, and are experts at facilitating communication between horse and rider. Our goal is to turn out confident and balanced riders while increasing equine knowledge and awareness.
The Equine Instructors
Rest assured, all students (young or old) will be learning on a well-disciplined and highly trained animal. The equine instructors have been carefully selected for this unique program based on their outstanding temperament, willingness to please, and quiet, gentle natures. They have the perfect dispositions for new and inexperienced riders and will be under Miss Marka's control during each riding session. Each horse is sure to become a favorite among their many adoring fans!

About the Instructors
Miss Marka has over 25 years experience owning and training horses. She has more than 20 years experience teaching riders of all ages from beginner to intermediate levels. As a USPC H-A graduate and long-time horse owner, Miss Marka has considerable experience in horsemanship, stable management, equine health and wellness, and competition in dressage, endurance, hunter/jumper and combined training.
Miss Carmen grew up on a horse farm in Iowa and has ridden all of her life. She is an exceptional instructor, and specializes in instruction for english pleasure, western pleasure, and saddleseat.
Each instructor facilitates the learning experience by sharing her knowledge and expertise in a fun, safe and engaging environment. Students will not only gain riding skills, but achieve fundamental milestones as well since each lesson is specifically structured to meet the needs of the individual student rider.
